Founded in 1993, China Quanmian Office Products Co., Ltd. is a ink printer manufacturer and designer of office products, school products and restaurant items. First of all this is a pigment ink printer. As such it is only the second Epson consumer-grade desktop printer to use pigmented inks, the first one being the Epson 2000p. Second, the inks used in the C80 are of a brand new formulation used exclusively in the C80 at the time of this review (November 2001). Named DuraBrite these inks are said by Epson to have a 70 years light fastness when used in combination with Epsonºs Archival Matte paper. Certainly, this is less than half the light fastness offered by the Epson 2000p inks which are rated at 200 years with Epson Archival Matte Paper. However, in my estimate 70 years is long enough to qualify these inks as archival.

Real high printing resolution: 720DPI. The X-axis and Y-axis adopt Pittman servo motor from U. S., the mechanical motion is very accurate. The linear rail adopt the rectangle rails of THK brand from Janpan. With full facilities such as auto media feeding&take-up system, auto ink supply system, pre&after heating system, auto cleaning system etc. The image data is transmitted by the light fibre, the speed is very high, and it's anti-distraction. The printer adopts the raster to fix the coordinate. It adopts the 2nd level ink tank to press the ink mechanically, avoiding to pump the ink manually. 4 colors ink (8, 12, 16 printheads) or 6 colors ink(6, 12 printheads) is optional. The appearance is elegant and modern.
